I created a test user and there is no problem: so it's a user issue. It can be solved (for each user) by changing the file ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list and remove the association between dirs and totem (inode/directory=totem.desktop) from default application and added applications.
Now, the issue is, I have never associated a folder with totem to be used by default. Worse : there is no easy way to change these associations like it is possible with files.
