The log says: Preparing to replace libc6 2.13-0ubuntu13 (using .../libc6_2.13-20ubuntu5_i386.deb) ...
So you upgraded from 2.13-0ubuntu13 to 2.13-20ubuntu5. There's no way that libc-2.12.1.so was a packaged file... at least not coming from the libc6 package in version 2.13! In any case, it's not a dpkg bug... so the bug was badly assigned from the beginning. I'm reassigning to eglibc. But unless you can provide some explanation on how those files came onto your system, I fear that they won't be able to fix anything... ** Package changed: dpkg (Ubuntu) => eglibc (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/874030 Title: package libc6 2.13-0ubuntu13 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: package libc6 is already installed and configured To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eglibc/+bug/874030/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
