I have the same problem on Kubuntu 7.04, Audacity 1.2.6, I have tried deselecting and reselecting the Mixer toolbar in Edit..Preferences, and also View..Float and View..Doc Mixer toolbar. But the Record source selection never appears on the Mixer toolbar.
