Following the tutorial for edgy here: 
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Device/NetgearWG111 using the latest 
drivers from the netgear website (one of which is athfmwdl.inf).
Ubuntu crashes when the dongle is plugged in, it connects to the network, but 
after that, nothing. Not even the mouse can be moved. This worked perfectly in 
dapper & edgy. I like feisty, but I like having the internet more, so please 
don't make me downgrade just to get it working again.
