Fresh install of 11.10 to an HP Pavilion P7-1110 failed to boot. It turns out that although the firmware supports UEFI, it was not in effect and grub-efi didn't work correctly and had to be replaced with grub-pc. My initial install attempt with 11.04 behaved the same, so I think it did the same thing. I am willing to provide whatever captures of information from the system that would help. I did not include the installer output since I was well beyond install.
