I'll test the newest mainline and post the results. Because oneric got frozen I thought of going back to natty, now even a stock natty installation freezes. I think the cause for this is a BIOS update that I did while I was on natty some time ago. The update was proposing a fix for a windows driver problem(back then windows was freezing), may be they added some code to it that'd make things not work with Linux. The BIOS I'm using now is version 215.You can get it at the following link, http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=K42Jc&p=3&s=248 (see the BIOS section).
