Public bug reported: My shiny new laptop has a brand new Oneiric install, root FS is ext4.
It appears that for some reason .config/dconf/user is being rewritten with /exactly/ the same information every minute or so. Unfortunately it appears this pointless rewrite causes an immediate spin-up of the drive for a sync. Which is not ideal, as it (a) hurts battery life and (b) potentially hurts the HD over time. Happy to debug, just tell me what logs to enable! ** Affects: d-conf (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Summary changed: - dconf/user file is rewritten every minute + ~/.config/dconf/user file is rewritten every minute ** Description changed: My shiny new laptop has a brand new Oneiric install, root FS is ext4.
