on 11.10 i have same issue, only my google chat messages are permanently lost:
My laptop is connected on both wired and wireless connections: 1. Disconnect wired connection, wireless connection is working, empathy does not reconnect and all my send messages are lost, not received even after manual disconnect/reconnect. 2. Connect back wired connection - empathy reconnects after 1 minute and messaging is working normally. It seeems that one case is handled (connect of wired connection), while another case is not (disconnect of wired connection). $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 11.10 Release: 11.10 $ apt-cache policy empathy empathy: Installed: 3.2.0-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 3.2.0-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 3.2.0-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://mirror.soften.ktu.lt/ubuntu/ oneiric/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status What I expect to happen: On wired connection disconnect, empathy should try to reconnect to wireless connection What happens instead: Empathy stays "connected", but actually no google chat messages are being sent -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/789305 Title: Empathy does not receive google chat messages until I disconnect and reconnect To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/789305/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
