Public bug reported: VLC opens fine the first time after installing the package, but after closing it, and opening any media file through vlc, it segfaults. Opening vlc without a media file works fine, but drag and drop a media file on it: segfault. Here's the console output:
vlc ./Media.File.Name.Hidden.mkv VLC media player 1.1.12 The Luggage (revision exported) Blocked: call to unsetenv("DBUS_ACTIVATION_ADDRESS") Blocked: call to unsetenv("DBUS_ACTIVATION_BUS_TYPE") [0x735120] main libvlc: Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface. Blocked: call to setlocale(6, "") m_el[mi_level] == NULL arrrrrrrrrrrrrg Up cannot escape itself Blocked: call to setlocale(6, "") (process:9300): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library. Using the fallback 'C' locale. Blocked: call to setenv("_PX_CONFIG_ORDER", "", 1) Segmentation fault Same error upon drag and drop too. Interestingly, deleting the vlc folder in ~/.config, and then starting vlc, works totally fine. But same problem manifests after it is closed. ** Affects: vlc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/880060 Title: segfaults on opening media the second time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vlc/+bug/880060/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
