It seems that I might be suffering from the same problem. After upgrading to Ubuntu 11.10, the only account visible in Evolution is "me"@localhost, when it should be "me"@gmail.com. The old messages were imported to this localhost account during the upgrade, but I'm not able to receive any messages any more. Everything seems normal in the Evolution settings. I don't know if it's related, but Evolution has two items in "default applications" selection. Selecting one or the other doesn't seem to affect anything though.
I wouldn't mind getting some help to solve this problem, as currently I have to send and read email through Gmail web interface, which I find very unpleasant to use. So, how do I get my "me"@gmail account back, visible and working again?
