Possibly, although the expected behaviour is that the application will mark the offline photographs as 'missing' and continue to run normally. With this in mind, can you try the following command line: SHOTWELL_LOG=1 gdb shotwell 2>&1 | tee shotwell.gdb ...and at the (gdb) prompt, type run ...and attach the resulting shotwell.gdb?
