** Description changed: I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 desktop version and I configure my network via "interfaces" file. The problem is that whenever I use "sudo service networking --full-restart" my GUI crashes. I'm not sure if it crashes only the GUI though. The crash was confirmed on fresh system install too. Thanks for your attention. + --- + ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu3 + Architecture: i386 + CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 + Gconf: + + IfupdownConfig: + auto lo + iface lo inet loopback + + auto eth0 + iface eth0 inet dhcp + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Release i386 (20111012) + IpRoute: + default via 192.168.228.2 dev eth0 metric 100 + 169.254.0.0/16 dev eth0 scope link metric 1000 + 192.168.228.0/24 dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.228.147 + IwConfig: + lo no wireless extensions. + + eth0 no wireless extensions. + Keyfiles: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory + NMTool: + Error: command ['nm-tool'] failed with exit code 1: + ** (process:2217): WARNING **: Couldn't connect to system bus: Failed to connect to socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: Connection refused + NetworkManager.state: + [main] + NetworkingEnabled=false + WirelessEnabled=true + WWANEnabled=true + WimaxEnabled=true + Package: network-manager-applet (not installed) + ProcEnviron: + PATH=(custom, no user) + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-12.20-generic 3.0.4 + RfKill: + + Tags: oneiric running-unity + Uname: Linux 3.0.0-12-generic i686 + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare ** Attachment added: "IpAddr.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/876495/+attachment/2570282/+files/IpAddr.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/876495 Title: bug on restarting networking service To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-applet/+bug/876495/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
