@zwheeler: Note, for me (Fuji FinePix F30 -> PTP Camera too) the camera is listed (autodetect USB ...), but an import is not possible.
Gwenview can import from PTP cameras, but after importing all picture files have wrong rights! Only reading and deleting is allowed. Same wrong rights after copy & paste with Dolphin or an other file manager. This is a serious problem for normal users, because normal user don't realize the wrong rights after import. So, it is no longer possible for normal users to manage photos with kubuntu 11.10 oneiric.
