I did another test that might be relevant: I ran Libreoffice with gnome environment:
OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome oowriter So I did not see the kde integration. However, when selecting OpenOffice.org > Finalize in Bibus it starts finalization, proceeds a little further than before and then freezes. Libreoffice does not crash, but the finalized document is not produced... Not sure what to make of this.
