OK, here's what I did. I have installed mainline kernel 3.1.0-030100rc10-generic #201110200610 SMP . After reboot, I was not presented with usual grub menu with installed kernerls to choose, instead system hung. Another reboot didn't change anything. After replugging the netbook while hung and hard restart, the system didn't start either (symptoms identical as above - blank screen). Then I have powered off the netbook, unplugged it, plugged again, powered on and it started OK, again no grub menu. Yet, the system started with new kernel. I have unplugged the netbook and restarted the system, and it booted again ok, with new kernel. I did it twice on battery and now it starts ok, I'm unable to reproduce the bug.
I'll try to charge the battery, then drain it until battery icon turns red again and then see if I'm able to reproduce the bug. I did try to upload that nifty report attachments with apport-collect, but I'm not sure if it worked. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/880485 Title: System hangs at startup when battery reported as "low" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/880485/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
