I just had a look at nautilus-compare and it does its work pretty much well. Diff-ext's upstream is currently unavailable and converting it to GTK3 is definitely not an easy task. Will you maintain your software in the future in case of bugs or issues? I can eventually upload it to Debian and ask for diff-ext's removal if we won't find any other good solution.
