Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org
I was working on a document the other day after a fresh install. I had forgotten to recreate a printer for the system so the only thing defined in OpenOffice was the "Generic Printer". When I printed the job to the "non-existent" printer I was rewarded with the Gnome desktop locking up completely. I tried using the <control><alt><F1> sequence to get to a commandline, but that didn't work at all. I was required to turn off the power to the machine and restart. Once restarted I defined the printer and didn't encounter the problem again. I don't think this is the type of behavior we want new users of Ubuntu to see when they inadvertantly neglect to configure cups/printers. ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- OpenOffice ( Writer ) locks up Gnome with No Printer Defined https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/114964 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
