I'm a newcomer to Linux, Ubuntu, command lines and all. I think I'm
having a similar problem to the one posted in this thread. I will post
what I wrote down from the screen and see if anyone might be able to
help.

After that I remember reading through a blue screen with white letters.
The screen seemed to inform me about different things wrong with the
computer? I can't really recall.
After that I got this screen, which seems to be like a log in to Ubuntu
using the "dos-like" interface and not the graphical interface I used
when booting from the cd.

I put in my user name and password and after that the text before the
field used to input type changed to something like [EMAIL PROTECTED] (or
something... I don't recall exactly)
So Linux wizes... Just what is going on? And how can I solve it?
