Thank you for your bug report, I have confirmed it due to the
information provided.

** Changed in: unity (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Confirmed

** Description changed:

- If I resize a window by dragging a window corner or side, and the mouse
- cursor hits a "hot zone" in the corner or at the edge of the screen, an
- orange bar showing the future position of the window is drawn, and if I
- release mouse button, the window indeed jumps to that position.
-
- This "grid" behaviour should not be activated when you resize the
- window, only when you drag it.
+ If I resize a window by dragging a window corner or side, and drag it to
+ the corner of the screen, the "aero half-size snap" to half the monitor
+ width is activated. It shows the original trace in addition to the aero-
+ snap trace of the window's future position. The "aero-snap" should only
+ be activated with a window move, not a resize.
