Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox
Using Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20061201 Firefox/2.0.0.3 (Ubuntu-feisty) Seems there is a bug within preferences -> tabs -> New pages should be opened in: Mine was set to "a new tab" (by default from memory?) however I was slowly going crazy wondering why new windows would often be opened instead of a new tab when following links. Forum search showed others experiencing this, along with the workaround for the preferences glitch: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=404993 Setting it to open in a new Window, then back to New Tab will the correctly set the about:config parameter "browser.link.open_newwindow" to 3 Another user reported that simply reclicking the already selected option of New Tab will also have the desired effect. ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Firefox opens new window instead of new tab https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/115002 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
