I found a workaround on this bug report:

"Move networking further down in the boot process. I moved networking from 
rcs.d to rc2.d/rc3.d/... and gave it a priority one lower than GDM."

Here's the command I used:  sudo mv /etc/rcS.d/S40networking
/etc/rc2.d/S14networking  It works for me.
