Confirmed on Ubuntu 11.04 and 11.10 per bug #759590 and bug #883572. According to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/syslog- ng/+bug/759590/comments/3, an easy workaround is to update to at least syslog-ng 3.3.
