Ok, that's valuable information. If the internal mic says "Conexant", it's definitely on the internal sound card. But if that is, it surprises me that the models tried above do not work. I wonder if Conexant does something undocumented or out of the ordinary to make the internal mic work, or if the BIOS just "forgets" to mark the internal mic as an internal mic.
