Public bug reported: When running update manager I get the following message:
----------------------------------------------------------------- Could not initialise the package information An unresolvable problem occurred while initialising the package information. Please report this bug for the 'update-manager' package and try to include the following error message: 'E:Encountered a section with no Package: header, E:Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/extras.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_natty_main_i18n_Translation-en, E:The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.' -------------------------------------------------------------- When I click on close the update-manager exits, and I have not been able to run update-manager or update my system. I have tried running update-manager with ubuntu-bug and apport-cli, but in both cases I was told: *** Error: Invalid problem report Could not determine the package or source package name. I am running Ubuntu 11.04, and the update-manager is version 0.150.2 ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/885523 Title: update-manager could not inialise package information To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/885523/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
