Public bug reported:

Actions to reproduce: Open konsole, change to a git repository, start gitg, 
switch to the "commit view" by clicking on the "Commit" tab, select any of the 
files listed as "Unstaged"
Behavior: gitg freezes, the gitg process consumes 100% of one CPU core
Expected behavior: gitg shows the unstaged changes in the selected file

OS: Kubuntu 11.10
