** Description changed: The screen on my laptop lost all functionality after not being able to terminate compiz-config. The same problem occurred on my desktop when I started it to see if I had compiz-config installed there. This problem has been reported once before, and assigned bug report 880917, however to this date there is no resolution The first time this happened on the laptop, it was not a problem, as it was new and I just rebuilt it from scratch. I can not do that now as I have data on both computers.
