I'm still using the same Oneiric install, upgraded to the Release version. Checking with dconf-editor, the default value of org/gnome /settings-daemon/peripherals/wacom/cursor/is-absolute is still true, and setting it to the default causes the problem again. So yes, I'd say the problem is still there.
