I've also seen this, but my kernel panics weren't sporadic - they were constant. Not anymore, though - I had a BIIIIIG fight with the FGLRX-drivers (HD 6850 - Gnome Shell won't quite play ball), and along the way I installed GDM. Maybe this has something to do with LightDM, if using GDM fixes it? In my case, the kernel panic seemed to be related to the FGLRX-driver (a bunch of reports of calls to fglrx that there was a problem with). No, I didn't take a picture of it, and no, I don't know where to look for it on my system.
