Nothing appeared in log file. Device is visible as it is also a printer. I submitted a bug for not being able to print at all https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/700141. It turned out that printer is not post script printer but someone was able to write driver in python for it. I'm suspecting it's something similar with scanner.
