Public bug reported:

when opening an image in a directory one of whose files has a broken
thumbnail in ~/.thumbnails/normal/, gthumb crashes.

attached is the crash output of gthumb run with strace -eopen to get a
rough impression what fails. the last file accessed is a 0 byte png,
which was probably created when the system ran out of disk space or a
program crash.
