Hey Leo, yes I can see what you were thinking. Unity is actually a plugin for Compiz, whereas Unity2D is a set of applications running with the Metacity window manager. Is it quite possible to use Compiz with Unity2D (disabling the Unity plugin to Compiz via ccsm), but again we don't test (nor support) that case, so bugs like this one may occur.
