I'm sorry to tell that I can't verify if kernel 3.0.9 solves the regression or not.
As the stick showed the same errors after installing kernel 3.0.9 as mainline build, I've done a crosscheck with Ubuntu 11.04 (where the stick always worked). Even there no frontend attached. Seems the stick decided: Too many tests, better I stay dead. Don't know if he died by ages, by accident or what ever.
