Public bug reported: I have read that the default location where pdf file produced by cups- pdf are placed is in ~/PDF. I had this directory as a symbolic link on my system pointing to ~/Documents/PDF. This produced the following error in the log:
Mon Nov 14 11:55:38 2011 [ERROR] failed to set file mode for PDF file (non fatal) (/home/cristian/PDF/Pagina_di_test.pdf) Mon Nov 14 11:55:38 2011 [STATUS] PDF creation successfully finished (cristian) note: "/home/cristian" is my home directory, the PDF folder and the target directory "/home/cristian/Documents/PDF" have full rwx permission for all users (changed on purposte to test this error). Please note that even if the log said " PDF creation successfully finished" no pdf file was produced. I have renamed my symbolic link and created a new PDF folder in my home "~/PDF" and everything works fine, but the system doesn't work with symbolic directories. $ dpkg -l cups-pdf ii cups-pdf 2.5.1-7 PDF writer backend for CUPS $ lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available.
