Zoom=no or zoom=0 doesn't work when added to /usr/local/etc/mplayer.conf, ~/.mplayer/config, or both. The video will always be zoomed to fit the window size but keeping correct aspect ratio. At least one side, ie top or bottom, is always touching the window.
I prefer to have my window maximised with the video set to its original size.
