I made a clean installation of ubuntu Desktop 11.10 64AMD 
I have not changed /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf or any other config files.

Downloaded the files at the above link and installed with.  "sudo dpkg
-i *.deb"

I'm not using the grub with this installation, but another one. I hope it does 
not give problems.
But i did boot the working grub and updated it.

The test did not have any effect on the bug that i could detect.
