Installation of 11.10 server amd64 (final) on a shuttle xs34v2 failed to detect the ethernet controller during the install process, but the installation completed and the machine boots successfully. The controller was detected at boot, but fails to establish link. The interface works if the speed is forced to 100Mbps (ethtool -s eth0 speed 100 duplex full autoneg off), but it fails to establish link if the speed is forced to 1000Mbps.
