I'm giving up unity. It is not ready as a stable release yet and i feel that canonical should recognize this and stop force feeding unity to all ubuntu users, all newbies may run screaming back to windows after a bad experience with unity and never come back.
There are too many issues that have cost too much of my time. I've switched to gnome3 and it works like charm.
