Public bug reported: I run Kubuntu 11.10 on my Thinkpad T61p laptop.
This often happens: after using it for a while, kwin starts hogging the CPU using between 30% and 50% constantly. This is a 2 core CPU, so I guess 50% means that it takes up 100% of one of the cores. This is the process line from 'top' showing the process: 1885 tdn 20 0 700m 112m 53m S 32 2.9 84:39.98 kwin -session 10d2c46c62000130661672800000022640000_1321211077_162487 This is a big problem as it quickly drains the battery if the AC power supply is not connected and often heats up the CPU a lot.
