Can anyone running more recent Ubuntu versions who had this problem report on the status of this issue in the new releases? Just curious, it's been about a year, and I'm itching to get my laptop upgraded, but I can't really mess around much with my laptop due to it being used for work, and it's the only box I've had this problem with.
