The best thing to do is to comment out the lines referencing
/dev/xconsole in the rsyslog configuration file, if you don't use
xconsole. Like this:

#daemon.*;mail.*;\
#        news.err;\
#        *.=debug;*.=info;\
#        *.=notice;*.=warn      |/dev/xconsole
