That problem _should_ be completely unrelated to your hotkeys, it's just that Toshiba has another bug in their AML code for getting battery information. But I have no explanation as to why this would get your hotkeys working -- it's possible it was just coincidence, but I don't really know. I'm becoming pretty convinced that we'll just have to disable hotkeys for your model in toshiba_acpi.
