Ubuntu 7.04. I've just checked everything again. The speed with preview disabled is fine now: < 1 sec to startup < 1 sec to show my folders < 1 sec for file-open dialoge (e.g. in gimp)
I now enabled preview again and it's still fast: < 1 sec everything I don't know when the speed was OK again, but i compiled and installed CVS mesa drivers (using r300) and mesa drm recently, so maybe it was a driver issue.
