The package has been fixed upstream, but will not be automatically fixed in Ubuntu unless one of the Universe maintainers uploads the Debian fixes to the Universe repositories.
Feel free to ask about this on the Ubuntu Universe maintainers mailing list or even repackage Tipptrainer yourself and post them here.
