I attached a bug watch to a bug in Debian also requesting a newer
version of virtuoso. Normally Ubuntu will sync packages from Debian once
in a while so that new packages become available. However, in this case,
virtuoso has some ubuntu-specific changes (patches) which means someone
will have to manually merge this package. (See

on merging)
