Sorry, but this most definitely does not work on my system (11.10, Unity3D, 64bit). With the bamfdaemon replaced with the one supplied by Paolo Stivanin, or freshly compiled by me according to the recipe, the result is that not only does the app switcher fail completely, but no (global-)menu items appear for any application, or the desktop. Verdict = utterly broken, rather than fixed, I am afraid.
Very grateful for all efforts at fixing this, of course. However, I have experienced a general improvement recently, possibly combined with the loss of the globalmenu in LO (it is now back in the traditional place - by design?).
