I agree with your 1 + 2. Nothing stops engineers designing a small
battery to avoid sudden power loss. I guess some industrial PC may see
the need to install a battery.

Some ideas:

1. It would be a good idea to compare FADT and DMI. The challenge would
be how to match DMI's definition to ACPI's definition (they lookl
similar but not precisely the same to me).

2. Will it also be a good idea to have an interactive test,. or a new
fwts option, so a user can manually specify the type of system under
testing (1 = desktop, 2 = laptop, 3 = netbook and so on).
