@Colin, I agree with your 1 + 2. Nothing stops engineers designing a small battery to avoid sudden power loss. I guess some industrial PC may see the need to install a battery.
Some ideas: 1. It would be a good idea to compare FADT and DMI. The challenge would be how to match DMI's definition to ACPI's definition (they lookl similar but not precisely the same to me). 2. Will it also be a good idea to have an interactive test,. or a new fwts option, so a user can manually specify the type of system under testing (1 = desktop, 2 = laptop, 3 = netbook and so on). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/897298 Title: fwts should test chassis type To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fwts/+bug/897298/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
