I have the same problem. When the freeze starts, the mouse is getting
slower and slower, i can still minimize windows, but i cant start
programs or do ctrl+alt+fX. Then after a few seconds the system freezes
completely and my mouse does not move anymore. The only thing i can do
is restart by pushing the button. The freezes happened when using
firefox (watching videos via flash) and running retroshare. Its no
memory leak or so because i got 8gigs and the memory-consumption applet
shows that hardly any memory is used. Also the applet shows that my cpu
(6 core) usage is low. I suspect it to be either the disk or the
wireless. Probably the wireless because it only seems to freeze during
heavier network usage, not disk usage. The system never froze while
copying 50 gigs of data etc. Also, the wireless connection is lost
sometimes and i can only reconnect to it by restarting.

Kernel: 2.6.38-13-generic
