I recently upgraded to Kubuntu 11.10 and now the Xsane preview window doesn't work. It comes up as blank white as reported by Robert Lee. I tried reinstalling it twice but that didn't solve the problem. The scan instruction works and all other windows open correctly but without the previewer the program is much reduced in usability.
I am using a HP Deskjet F380 printer scanner and an Acer TravelMate 6410. Interestingly the preview window did open and operate once after I had been using (with only partial success) Skanlite and the LibreOffice scan facility. I have not been able to replicate this situation.
