Public bug reported: fresh install on PC (feisty)
1 internal sata HD with XP only 1 internal ide hd with ubuntu only- 1 external esata hd for backup - 400 gigs ntfs and 25 gigs partitioned as ext3 for linux backup. USB DEVICES- 2 thumb drives, OCZ rally2 2gig, kinston data traveler 512mb, one camera dmc-lc33 everything works as per the usb devices in a new install "hot plug" etc. but if I install the NTFS tool included in the add/remove program-(I am on XP right now and forgot the ntfs utility name) have the esata HD on that gets recocognised and if I shut off the pc and the ext. hd and power on ubuntu and plug in a thumb drive it will try to mount it to the ext. hd (/media/exthd400gig) , both thumb drives same problem except camera. workaround- start pc with ext. hd on and then everything works. potential workaround, maybe have everything turned on and plugged in before the installation of the ntfs tool. (this bug is repeatable for me, I wiped my drive and could do it all over again) also tried with a new install- and a regular ide external usb hd (ntfs) and the same thing happened. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- cannot mount USB devices after NTFS rw installed and eSATA used https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/116019 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
