I've just encountered this in the released ubuntu-11.10-alternate-i386
installer. The machine in question is an Acer Veriton 3600G (Pentium 4,
ICH5 chipset) with a Hitachi-LG GCC-4481B E106 DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive. The
message dialog asking for the disk had the title "Configuring pnm2ppa",
though given that's a printer driver component, I suspect it's
unrelated.

I swapped the drive for a Hitachi-LG GCC-8240B CD-RW drive, and the
installation completed successfully with the same disc.
